Featured in this lot is a truly unique item, a vintage press pin. This 1" diameter pin was worn by members of the press who were covering the 1954 American Association All-Star Game, in which the triple-A league's finest players competed. That season, the Indianapolis Indians, with Rocky Colavito and Herb score, dominated the American Association and on August 9, 1954, the Indians took on the rest of the leagues All Stars at Victory Field. This was the first All Star game in almost a decade. Some of the more notable teams in this league were Milwaukee, Minneapolis, Indianapolis and Toledo.

The over-half century old item still shines today as it did in the press box on that day in 1954. The pin would make a prized piece for any Minor League collector, or for those with an appreciation for sports journalism of yesteryear. MINT condition. 01293
