This lot of 9 vintage images focuses primarily on Hall of Fame manager Casey Stengel during his tenure with the New York Yankees. Also pictured with the Old Perfessor in this lot are Mrs. Stengel, George Tebbets, Eddie Lopat, Sid Hudson, Joe Kuhl, Arturo Lopez, Whitey Ford and Ford's son Tommy. Measurements range from 6.5" x 7" to 8" x 10". Photos contain various handwritten notations, affixed cutlines and date & photographer's stamps on their reverse. Boston Herald Archives Holograms. The original Boston Herald was founded in 1846 by a group of Boston printers jointly under the name of John A. French & Company. The paper was published as a single two-sided sheet, selling for one cent. This is an original photo, in many cases a Type 1 printed at the time of the event. File copies or type 2 photos are also found, and can be distinguished by the markings on the reverse.
