1954-61 Joe DiMaggio New York Yankees & Marilyn Monroe "Boston Herald Collection Archives" Original Photo - Lot of 2 (BH Hologram/MEARS LOA)

Our nation's first couple, Joe DiMaggio and Marilyn Monroe, are together on these original photos - 7 1/4" x 8 3/4" and 8 1/2" x 6". At least one of the following appears on reverse: photographer service stamp, production notes or date stamp. Each includes a Boston Herald Archives hologram.

The original Boston Herald was founded in 1846 by a group of Boston printers jointly under the name of John A. French & Company. The paper was published as a single two-sided sheet, selling for one cent. This is an original photo, in many cases a Type 1 printed at the time of the event. File copies or type 2 photos are also found, and can be distinguished by the markings on the reverse.
