In baseball's golden age, most fans came to the ballpark in suits and ties. Women traditionally donned dresses.

Going to a baseball game equated a night on the town, translation, you wore your finest. Usher's were no different. Most ushers wore something to differentiate themselves from fans. In Baltimore, ushers wore the offered hat.

Although it looks more like a conductor's hat, this beauty is made with an orange mesh material on top and a shiny plastic bill. The orange colors mirrored what the team wore on the field and provided a little respite from the oppressive summer heat.

An "Orioles" chain-stitched swatch is plastered on the middle as is a vintage Orioles pin. Minor cracking is apparent on the leather headband. This was manufactured by Zephyr and still has life left in it.
