Hall of Fame slugger Hank Aaron is featured in this lot of 56 photos which span from his early days with the Milwaukee Braves, to the franchise's move to Atlanta and his pursuit of Babe Ruth's career home run record and then back to Milwaukee to end his career in the city in which it began with the Brewers. Pictured with Aaron in this lot are Fred Haney, Bob Gibson, Willie Mays, Jimmy Carter, Bowie Kuhn, Willie Stargell, Tito Francona, Tom Seaver, Tommy Harper, Sixto Lezcano and his wife Billye Aaron. Most photos measure in the vicinity of 8" x 10" with some smaller sizes also included. Photos contain various handwritten notations, affixed cutlines and date & photographer's stamps on their reverse. Boston Herald Archives Holograms. (M0690)

The original Boston Herald was founded in 1846 by a group of Boston printers jointly under the name of John A. French & Company. The paper was published as a single two-sided sheet, selling for one cent. This is an original photo, in many cases a Type 1 printed at the time of the event. File copies or type 2 photos are also found, and can be distinguished by the markings on the reverse.
