1950 Arnold Palmer and Dwight Eisenhower “Seattle Times” Original 6.5 x 8.75 News Photo (“Seattle Times” Hologram/MEARS LOA)

Two of the greatest, most famous and most beloved men of their time--Dwight Eisenhower and Arnold Palmer--converse in this vintage approximately 6.5" x 8.75" photo. Reverse includes: United Press International Photo stamp, 1960 date stamp, penwritten identification and a Seattle Times hologram.

The Seattle Times originated as the Seattle Press-Times, a four page newspaper founded in 1891 with a daily circulation of 3,500, which Main’es teacher and attorney Alden J. Blethen bought in 1896. This is an original photo, in many cases a Type 1 printed at the time of the event. File copies or type 2 photos are also found, and can be distinguished by the markings on the reverse.
