This lot includes three vintage baseball caps. The first is a Colt 45"s hat that was made by Wilson. There is no size listed nor is there any date code. The Houston Colt's lasted for three seasons (1962-64) before becoming the Houston Astros when the Dome was finished. This hat has the .45s embroidered on a patch which is sewn to the hat, a style that cannot be confirmed as having ever been worn in major league play. It remains in near mint condition with just some light sweat stains on the inside band. The second hat looks to be a Cincinnati Reds style hat made by K-M Pro size 6 3/4 that remains in near mint unused condition. It has a red wishbone "C" on a patch as well. Again, there is no evidence that this style of hat was ever worn in major league play so, like the 45s hat, they were made for some other use ie sample, etc. The last hat is a heavily game worn New Era hat with leather liner and a sort of water proof type material under the bill. It sports an embroidered Philadelphia style "A" on the front. It is not a major league hat so it is more than likely some type of minor league hat but for which team, we have no concrete evidence. Hopefully, someone out there who is familiar with this style will have some interest in it. Nice vintage hat lot.
