1949-65 Joe DiMaggio New York Yankees Signing Autographs "Boston Herald Collection Archives" Original Photos (BH Hologram/MEARS LOA) - Lot of 7

The Yankee Clipper, Joe DiMaggio, is captured in this lot of 7 photos signing autographs for some of his many adoring fans. Measurements range from 6" x 8" to 7.5" x 9.5". Photos contain various handwritten notations, affixed cutlines and date & photographer's stamps on their reverse. Boston Herald Archives Holograms. (M0608)

The original Boston Herald was founded in 1846 by a group of Boston printers jointly under the name of John A. French & Company. The paper was published as a single two-sided sheet, selling for one cent. This is an original photo, in many cases a Type 1 printed at the time of the event. File copies or type 2 photos are also found, and can be distinguished by the markings on the reverse.
