Ted Wilks was a solid pitcher who received an All Star nod in 1948. For reasons unknown, he did not appear on the roster. Our guess is Wilks was injured and didn't participate in the game.

Offered is a typed letter on National League stationery from the desk of Ford Frick announcing to Wilks his inclusion on the '48 squad. There are regular compacting folds visible but they do not touch the signature. Frick signed the bottom in perfect blue ballpoint.

This hales from Wilks' personal estate.
