Offered is a Spalding Official National League Ford Frick baseball which was used during the Chicago Cubs 6-3 victory over the Boston Braves on June 1, 1946 at Wrigley Field. "June 1, 1946 Cubs 6 Boston 3 11 Hits No 1" handwritten on side panel with the 11 hits and No 1 referring to the pitching line of Cubs hurler Bob Chipman who picked up his 1st win of the season allowing 11 hits over nine complte innings of work.
