Captured in this lot of 37 photos is Hall of Fame slugger Hank Greenberg. The photos in this lot run from his legendary playing career with the Detroit Tigers to his post playing career as General Manager of the Cleveland Indians and you even get a couple shots of Hammerin' Hank volleying and serving on the tennis court in his retirement. Measurements range from 4" x 6" to 8" x 10". Photos contain various handwritten notations, affixed cutlines and date & photographer's stamps on their reverse. Boston Herald Archives Holograms. The original Boston Herald was founded in 1846 by a group of Boston printers jointly under the name of John A. French & Company. The paper was published as a single two-sided sheet, selling for one cent. This is an original photo, in many cases a Type 1 printed at the time of the event. File copies or type 2 photos are also found, and can be distinguished by the markings on the reverse.
