This bat was returned to Louisville and is so recorded in records and is side written on bat; (34 ½ oz. Wally Moses 4-13-40 Philadelphia Amer. Lea.) Having been returned before the start of the 1940 season having been used in 1939 or earlier. It is 35” long and now weighs 36.5 oz and has perfect deep markings and a stunning dark finish with heavy game use and deeply embedded ball lace marks. Moses was with the A’s from 1935-41 hitting .325 his first season and averaging .331 his first 3 seasons. He was an All Star in 1937 and moved to the White Sox in 1942-46. He was traded to the Red Sox as pennant insurance in time for the 1946 World Series. The bat still has all of the tool room markings as well. This is a rare and top condition specimen for the Philadelphia Athletics collector as well as anyone trying to put together the 1946 Red Sox Pennant winning team, the only one in which Ted Williams ever played. It is picture perfect and grades a perfect A10 as well.
