No matter how accomplished a star is, he/she needs to get away from time to time. The countless demands for an autograph or to hit a home run for a sick boy never seemed to get to Babe Ruth. He had a few leisures away from the game namely hunting and golf. Well if you count carousing and eating copious amounts of hot dogs as a hobby you cake make that four.

Ruth recharged his battery hunting when he wasn't hitting baseballs out of stadiums on a daily basis. This special dinner was held at Jack Dempsey's Restaurant in 1937 and had a laundry list of dignitaries, each of who signed the offered dinner menu. Worth special mention is the fact that the game served at the meal was caught by the featured guests. For instance Ruth was responsible for the Potage Gibiere while Jack Dempsey put a Nova Scotia Moose down for the count.

This program is signed by the following: Dave Driscoll, Bob Edge, Grantland Rice (the grandfather of sports writing), Robert Ripley (dec. '49 creator of Ripley's Believe It or Not), Ruth and a few others.

The Ruth signature is flawless as is the Ripley. Rice chose pencil as his instrument of choice. Framed, this measures 16" x 14". A full JSA letter will attend. A JSA sticker is affixed to the back of the frame.
