In 1935 Goudey went to a 4-in-1 format featuring multi-players on a baseball card for the first time on a regular sized card. Offered here is a near-set (30 of 36 cards) of 1935 Goudey 4-in-1's for an 83 percent complete set. Featured in the set is the final card of Babe Ruth. Ruth retired after the ’35 season with a one-year stint with the Boston Braves. The career of Ruth, a Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees legend, was well-recognized as he hit a then-Major League Record 714 home runs, a record that stood 40 years. He also was a career .342 hitter and and also was a solid pitcher with 94 wins and a 2.28 ERA to his credit. Ruth is pictured as a member of the Braves with fellow Hall of Famer Rabbit Maranville, Ed Brandt and Marty McManus. The set is loaded with other Hall of Famers in this near-set.
