This collection of 17 photos ranging from 5" x 7" to 8" x 10" pays tribute to football's long and glorious past. Many of the photos feature Norm Van Brocklin from his days with the Eagles. At least one of the following appears on reverse: date stamp, production notes, photographer service stamp or writing. Each includes a Boston Herald Archives hologram.

The original Boston Herald was founded in 1846 by a group of Boston printers jointly under the name of John A. French & Company. The paper was published as a single two-sided sheet, selling for one cent. This is an original photo, in many cases a Type 1 printed at the time of the event. File copies or type 2 photos are also found, and can be distinguished by the markings on the reverse.
