The Chicago Bears pinned the future of the NFL on the hopes that Red Grange could help make the professional game relevant. Before Grange burst onto the scene, college football dominated the gridiron landscape.

This pinback ( 2 3/4" diameter), dated Oct. 13, 1934, pays tribute to Red Grange. When the game was played, Grange was playing his last season for the Bears. Images of Grange and coach Illini Zup Zuppke featured. The perimeter captures the game's particulars.

Both ribbons are intact (orange portion somewhat frayed but still attached) and have maintained their colorful brilliance.
