Offered for sale, 1934-40 Billy Herman Chicago Cubs H&B Louisville Slugger Professional Model Game Used bat. Pre model number, this bat measures 34 3/5" (35") and currently weighs 34 ounces. Bat exhibits heavy game wear, heavy ball marks above and below the barrel, stitch marks above and below the barrel, and consistent patina throughout. The handle originally contained a twisting pattern of tape which has fallen away and left the outline of its original placement. Two newer twists of tape cover a 6" handle crack that has light separation with no missing pieces. Herman was documented as using tape.
Final Grade: MEARS A9. Base grade of 5 points for bat matching factory records, 3 points for heavy game use, 2 points for Herman player traits (tape), minus 1 point for missing tape and handle crack.

Market Report: According to the MEARS bat census, copyright 2005-2009, this is only the second Billy Herman bat examined by MEARS. The other bat was a MEARS 8. This is the highest graded example.
