St. Louis has long been one of baseball's top cities. Regardless if the team is in playoff contention or in the lower tier of their division, St. Louis fans support their team like nobody else.
This Official League baseball is signed by members of an early '30s squad. While most of the 20+ signatures are lost to the affects of time, there are a few decipherable names. Tex Carleton, Pepper Martin and Sparky Adams are easily identifiable.
The 1960s Cubs provided the south siders a reason to be proud. The team had a serious dose of star power on its hands. Three of the team's signature stars signed this ONL (Giles) baseball in ball point ink. Each penned their name and gave a salutation "To Mitch".
Minor staining is found above the baseball stampings.
Ernie Banks, Billy Williams and Ron Santo each signed this baseball.
The ball was presented to JSA and they were inconclusive as far as the validity of the autographs.
