Known as the Yankee who got the first ever hit in the new Yankee stadium in 1923, Ward played for them from 1917-26 before moving to the White Sox in 1927, then the 1928 Indians, and finishing in the minor leagues PCL 1930-31 Sacramento/Oakland, 1932 Shreveport and 1933 Kansas City.
