Offered in this lot are 6 photos of various players in the Pacific Coast League. Included are George Boehler of the Oakland Oaks, Merrit Ranew of the Seattle Angels, Bill Evans & Earl Averill of the Seattle Rainiers and Max Bishop, Bill Sweeney and Fred Storey of the Portland Beavers. Measurements range from 5" x 7" to 8" x 10". Photos contain various handwritten notations, affixed cutlines and date & photographer stamps on their reverse. Seattle Times Archives Hologram. (N0470)

The Seattle Times originated as the Seattle Press-Times, a four page newspaper founded in 1891 with a daily circulation of 3,500, which Maine teacher and attorney Alden J. Blethen bought in 1896. This is an original photo, in many cases a Type 1 printed at the time of the event. File copies or type 2 photos are also found, and can be distinguished by the markings on the reverse.
