1926-38 Cubs Baseball Uniform (MEARS Auction LOA)

This vintage game worn jersey has Cubs expressed across the front, but this was not the Chicago Cubs. Because those lovable losers have such a feverish fan base, teams have always liked assuming the name Cubs through the years. This jersey has a labeling period of 1926-38.

Two of the buttons are missing on the front. "CUBS" is captured on front in single-color black felt material. Black material surrounds the neckline and flows down the button path on front. A few minor stains are visible. Sewn in the collar is a Spalding tag. Not to be forgotten is a Cubs patch on the left sleeve with "M" in pink felt.

Also included are the pants with a Spalding tag in tail. "35 11 Hepinger" is written (size "35") on the Spalding tag. Heavy use is associated on the pants with numerous repairs. These were worn until their life was extinguished.
