1922-28 Ernie Nietzke H&B Louisville Slugger Professional Model Side Written Game Used Leaded Bat (52 oz.) - (MEARS LOA)

This leaded signature model bat was used by Ernie while he played in the minor leagues with Pittsfield in 1922, Saginaw 1923 and Hamilton in 1925. We cannot find any more team listings during this period. The bat has been leaded. Bat measures 35" and weighs a whopping 52 oz. Bat shows evidence of heavy game use that include grain separation on the front of the barrel, cleat marks and ball marks (swelling) on all three sides. Bat has closed 4" handle crack. There are four giant lead nails? on barrel with 3/4" heads. The back of the barrel has a 5" sliver missing and some vintage nails in the deadwood. Knob has slight chip.
