Since bringing a bag full of mitts wasn't the most feasible way of transportation, sporting goods salesmen had something like the offered mitt to show prospective buyers.

Offered is a salesman's sample glove measuring about 6 1/2" x 5 1/2". Minor wear is shown on the leather specimen. No manufacturer stamping is visible.
