In this lot of 6 photos you can watch George Herman "Babe" Ruth age right in front of your eyes. Five of the photos feature Ruth taking pregame batting practice starting with a shot of him as a svelte member of the Boston Red Sox and continuing through his more portly years at the end of his run with the New York Yankees. Also included is a shot of Mrs. The Babe sitting in the grandstands with baseball comedian and frequent Ruth co-conspirator Nick Altrock.

Hand selected for inclusion in the book "Baseball's Golden Age: The Photographs of Charles M. Conlon, 1993" each of these offered images were developed from the original glass plate negative. Classified as a Type 2 by professional grading services, each image presents the finest in color, subject, and contrast. Near mint condition. Sporting News Hologram. (H1172)
