The July 4, 1910 fight between Jack Johnson and James Jeffries was more than just a boxing match. It was a historic fight of significant proportions, filled with racial tensions and unbridled anticipation. The stronger and more nimble Johnson proved victorious over Jeffries, who came out of retirement for the event. This splendid original postcard depicts two young boys, basically portraying the fight among themselves. The 3 1/4" by 5 1/2" piece, rates VG-EX, with some minor corner creasing and minor wear. "Jeffries & Johnson Markesan Wis. July 4th 1910," is at the base.
