When Fred Ebert played at Wabash College (1910-13), the NFL wasn't a destination. No, true football was played on Saturday afternoons at the college level.

Secured from Ebert's estate are these seven photos of Ebert and vintage turn of the century football. Three of the photos are team images plastered to a cardboard backing. Two 3" x 4" photos show Ebert in uniform and a final image (5 1/4" x 3") shows some game action. Two of the team photos feature football pioneer Jesse Harper (wearing hat) who went on to coach Notre Dame and helped mold Knute Rockne. It was Harper who helped popularize the forward pass.

Also included in this listing is a vintage Spalding football. We are safe in assuming this was used in game competition. The inside is crumpled and the laces are cut but this could be resurrected with a little care. Also included is a 1913 Spalding's Athletic Library rules book edited by Walter Camp.
