The pointed metal cage has remains of original black paint and is extremely clean. The leather and canvas pads are attched with some original leather as well as replacement string with heavy wear but all are there. The strap which is dated is complete but no longer attached in all three places as the small leather straps are broken on one side and gone on top. A barbaric relic from the earliest days of catcher's face protection.Collection of MEARS staff
