1885 Grover Cleveland Signed Card with Letter and Envelope -JSA

President Grover Cleveland wasn't your usual commander in chief. For one, Cleveland was the only President to serve two non-consecutive terms - making him both the 22nd and 24th President of the United States. Secondly, he entered office in 1885 as a bachelor, with his sister Rose Cleveland serving as the First Lady until he married in 1886.

This 1885 handwritten (not by Cleveland) card from the office of Grover Cleveland invites a guest to spend an hour with Rose. It reads, "Miss Cleveland will be happy to see Miss Dickinson and her friends on Saturday between 12 and 1 pm 2 July, 1885"

Another card features Grover Cleveland's signature in pen. Also included is a sealed (opened from a slit at the top) envelope is stamped July 2, 1885. NM condition. JSA auction letter included. A1541
