On April 27, 1885 Miss May Dickinson was mailed articles about Sir Richard Temple, a prominent political figure in British-controlled India. More important than both the parcel itself or its recipient was the person responsible for sending the item.

It was none other than America's 22nd President, Grover Cleveland who saw fit to send Miss Dickinson these article clippings. Contained in this lot: The White House envelope which encased the article, the article clippings themselves (one glue to a piece of paper), and a handwritten explanation to the Presidential significance of each item.
