1865 Abraham Lincoln Funeral Pass

On the evening of April 14, 1865, Abraham Lincoln - America's 16th President and one of the county's most significant figures - was shot. The following morning, he died. On April 19, Lincoln was laid to rest before only his closest family and friends, and a few other exclusive attendees.

Presented in this lot is an entry pass to President Lincoln's funeral. The approximately 3.25" x 5" paper card was used to "Admit the Bearer to the Executive Mansion, on Wednesday, the 19th of April, 1865."

For an item its age, it has been preserved exceptionally well. It's a rare and tremendous relic marking the premature end to a great man's life. A1514
