Offered is a lot of three newspapers that feature boxing in each one of them, including the 1897 fight between Jim Corbett and Robert Fitzsimmons. The first paper comes from the Aug. 28, 1842 Tom Spring's Life In London Chronicle. On the front of the newspaper has an illustration of a boxer in a corner getting assistance from his corner with the other corner's boxer looking like he is fully in charge. On the page page has a 3 1/2 column featuring the Memoir of Tom Hickman, better known as the "Gas-Light Man". The newspaper is in VG condition with some paper loss on the sides of the pages. The second newspaper is from the Western Reserve Chronicle from Warren/Trumbull County. On the back page of the four page paper has a 13-line item about a murder that occured in New York for a 120 round fight. The paper is in VG condition with a soil line down the center of the front page and has writing on the paper as well. The final paper is the Utica, New York Saturday Globe from March 20, 1897 featuring the Corbett-Fitzsimmons fight in color on the upper fold of the paper. The paper features a full recap on the back page and is in VG condition with a few rips and stains throughout. (F0383)
