Offered is an important 11" x 14" black-and-white image of Opening Day’s pre-game ceremonies at Chicago's Wrigley Field in 1969. The photograph is autographed by every Chicago Cub who played in the April 8th season opener. Beautiful blue sharpie signatures include starters Fergie Jenkins (pitcher), Randy Hundley (catcher), Ernie Banks (first base), Glenn Beckert (second base), Don Kessinger (shortstop), Ron Santo (third base, 1940-2010), Billy Williams (left-field), Don Young (center field-very difficult signature!) Jim Hickman (right field) along with winning relief pitcher Phil Regan and pinch-hitting hero Willie Smith (1937-2006). It was Smith's dramatic, 10th inning walk-off home run that clinched the victory for the Cubs, setting the tone for this now legendary season, one which burns brightly in the hearts and minds of the Cubs faithful even 40 years later.
