According to the MEARS Authentic LOA provided:
"These gloves have "SS21" embroidered into the wrist of each glove, which is consistent trait of Sosa items. "All Star Game 2001" is present on each glove above the Franklin patch on back. In addition, the 2001 All Star Game logo is present on the Velcro wrist piece on each hand. It is important to note that during the 20001 All Star Game, Sosa exclusively used Fila batting gloves both during the Home Run Derby and the All-Star Game. In pictures found of Sosa during the 2001 season, he is always wearing Fila batting gloves, so it is most likely that these gloves were a part of a batch that Franklin produced for every player to use at the All-Star Game in 2001, however, Sosa chose not to wear them.
