Offered is an autographed Willie Mays professional model Adirondack game used bat from his time with the San Francisco Giants in the early 1960's. Model number M63 is stamped on the knob along with what appears to be a smeared uniform number and the Say Hey Kid has signed the barrel in blue marker beneath the signature model stamping.
This flame treated ash bat currently weighs 32.5 ounces, measures 35" in length and matches known player factory records with a regular knob and round barrel. It exhibits signs of heavy use with ball marks, stitch marks, cleat marks and a light application of pine tar. Handle remains uncracked.
Bat receives 5 points for matching known player factory records and 3 points for use resulting in a final grade of MEARS A8.
