Offered is a Ted Kluszewski professional model H&B Louisville Slugger game used bat from his 1955 season with the Cincinnati Reds which was obtained by our consignor directly from Wrigley Field. Model number U1 is stamped on the knob.
This ash bat currently weighs 37 ounces, measures 36" in length and matches known player factory records with a flare knob and round signature model barrel. It exhibits signs of heavy use with ball marks, deeply embedded stitch marks, handle scoring and a large section of dead wood running from the center brand through the barrel's end which appears to have been glued back on after becoming separated at one time.
Bat receives 5 points for matching known player factory records, 3 points for use and loses 2 points for the barrel damage and repair resulting in a final grade of MEARS A6.
