Every collector knows how hard it is to find an original factory colored helmet since the majority of helmets were made in tan, black or brown and were painted by the team with team colors. In over twenty five years of dealing in antique football helmets, factory colored models known would be less than a couple of dozen different makes at best and most of these colored models are found on cheap childrens helmets, not professional quality top of the line examples.
"Thos. E Wilson Company" is branded into the back of the offered 1920s helmet. There is some chipping on the red paint throughout but the headgear is complete. The inside padding is intact as is the chinstrap. Even the tie holding together the four inside leather strips is complete.
