Some regard him to be the inventor of modern baseball. Others attest he "may" have been on of several possible inventors of the game. Some disagree with his affiliation altogether. No matter what you believe Alexander Cartwright's role in baseball to be, he has become an integral figure in baseball lore. He is pictured in this photo negative. Measures 1.75" x 2.75". This item includes a Sporting News Collection hologram. (C1077)

Originating directly from the vaults of "The Sporting News", these black and white negatives produce the highest quality of images. "The Sporting News" employed the very best professional photographers, and the images submitted to the paper were the best of the best. Despite the exact date of use or publication being unknown, each image was hand selected for its subject, clarity, and richness of image. Although there is no actual print offered, (negative only), you have the ability to produce a high quality print for your own personal use. Each black and white negative is housed in a protective envelope which bears the official "The Sporting News" hologram, used to insure the pedigree of each image.
