Collectors, this bat represents a fine example of a 2011 Albert Pujols game used bat which was manufactured on October 24th, 2011, during the World Series. With heavy use, this bat may have been availalbe for use during the series or carried over for use the following season. It has been brought to our attention that the tape/pinetar handle is not consistent with other Pujols bats that have entered the hobby, and may have been used for exhibition.
Date (10-24-11): Factory date stamped on the knob, October 24th, 2011, this is the manufacturer production code. This bat was produced during the 2011 World Series. (ended 10-29-11)
Manufacturer (Marucci): Pujols used several suppliers during his career, it was verified that he did use the Marucci brand during the 2011 season and World Series.
Model AP5-M: This model was verified as being used by Pujols during the era.
Length 34”: Bat was supplied in Pujol’s preferred 34” length.
Weight 34 ounces: Pujols ordered 34 ounce bats during this era.
Wood: Maple
Use: Heavy game use is evident via deep seam marks scattered both above and below the barrel stampings. Several ball marks are also present. Several black bat rack marks are also present.
The handle tape and pinetar application is consistent with Pujols game used bats.
