This lot of 4 Babe Ruth images focuses primarily on his later years including a shot with his wife Claire and actor William Bendix who would be portraying him in The Babe Ruth Story. There is also a modern postcard from the International Museum of Photography at George Eastman House which is a reproduction of a classic Nickolas Muray image from the Babe's 1927 campaign. Measurements range from 4" x 6" to 6.5" x 8". Photos contain various handwritten notations, affixed cutlines and date & photographer's stamps on their reverse. Boston Herald Archives Hologram. The original Boston Herald was founded in 1846 by a group of Boston printers jointly under the name of John A. French & Company. The paper was published as a single two-sided sheet, selling for one cent. This is an original photo, in many cases a Type 1 printed at the time of the event. File copies or type 2 photos are also found, and can be distinguished by the markings on the reverse.
