Offered is a pre rookie bat of the 1962 Mets and 1969 Padre as a member of both inaugural teams. This is a signature model C216, 34.5”/29 oz. With deep factory stamps, heavy game use and an 11” handle crack with number 44 in faded black marker on the knob. We do know that he wore 34 with the Cardinals his rookie season in 1960 so this bat would have to date to his minor league career which ran from 1956-60 as follows; 1956 Decatur, 1957 Billings & Ardmore, 1958 & 1959 Omaha, 1960 Rochester.
