If Tom Lawless had one thing it was timing. The man who played eight years with a .207 average and two lifetime home runs picked the most opportune time to shine in the 1987 World Series.
In game 4 of the 1987 Fall Classic, Lawless hit a go-ahead three run homer in the fourth inning as the Cardinals cruised. It is highly probable that Lawless donned this very jersey when he accomplished his career highlight. Authentication is secured with a signed letter by Lawless which states this was worn by Lawless during the '87 World Series. Given the heavy use on the jersey we are safe in assuming this saw a lot of game action during the regular season.
Moderate puckering and fraying are found on the identifiers. "LAWLESS" is arched atop the verso numbers. The right sleeve end has a 1987 World Series patch. "Cardinals" is crafted in chenille threads on the front. The inner tail includes a Rawlings size "40" size tag and size "40" size/manufacturer's flag tag. Graded MEARS A10.
