During 1933-34 Goudey ran a unique promotion offering any collector with enough wrappers a chance to redeem them in exchange for a high quality premium. Collectors would receive their premiums through the mail in just a thin manila envelope, leading to many of the premiums being damaged in transit. Offered here is a Goudey R309 premium featuring World Heavyweight Champions Max Baer, Primo Carnera and Jack Dempsey, who refereed the bout. Slight creasing around corners but the image itself remains striking and unblemished. Premium features a fold out cardboard easel on the reverse and the original postmarked mailing envelope will also attend. Measures 5.25" x 9". (F0094)
