It isn't hyperbole to say that the coin flip to determine who would hold the first pick in the 1969 NBA Draft between the Phoenix Suns and Milwaukee Bucks was one of the most highly anticipated coin flips of all time as the winner would earn the right to select standout UCLA Bruins center Lew Alcindor. The Phoenix Suns went against the "tails never fails" adage and called heads, but Walter Kennedy's coin came up tails and the rest is history.

Offered here is a Wilson Official NBA J. Walter Kennedy basketball which has been signed by a rookie Lew Alcindor and 15 other members of the 1969-70 Milwaukee Bucks including Larry Costello, Dick Cunningham, Flynn Robinson, Guy Rodgers, Freddie Crawford, Jon McGlocklin, Bob Dandridge, Len Chappell, Sam Williams, Bob Grecean and more. There are a couple of names written on the ball which appear to be from non-team members, but nothing which detracts from the Alcindor penning or overall display of the ball. (D0070)
