Offered is an A.J. Reach Official American League red & blue stitched baseball which has been signed by New York Yankees and Tacoma All Stars teammates Babe Ruth and Bob Meusel. PSA/DNA has awarded each of the autographs a grade of 7 and the ball a grade of 3 for an overall grade of 5. Details of Ruth's visit to Tacoma can be found below via the Washington State Historical Society...
Babe Ruth came to Tacoma in 1924 for a special appearance with the Tacoma All-Stars who met the Timber Leaguers on October 8, 1924. He arrived by train from Spokane where an enthusiastic crowd greeted him. After a prodigious breakfast at the Tacoma Hotel, he made a tour of Tacoma before the game. He visited a hardware store, the Bank of California, the Tacoma Ledger, the telephone company, the Cushman Hospital and the Children's Industrial Home where he autographed baseballs. Anticipation was running high when Ruth came up to bat in the ninth inning with the Tacoma All Stars trailing the Timber Leaguers. Sadly for the All-Stars and the crowd, the Bambino went down swinging. This did not dampen Tacoma's love of the baseball icon as he was invited back in 1926 for a week of appearances. (B0214)
