Offered is a West Side Park stadium pass from the 1910 Chicago Cubs season which was issued to the Honorable John P. Stewart, Alderman of Chicago's 20th Ward so he could witness "Captain Chance's Celebrated Chicago Champion Cubs". Reverse reads "I agree and request that this book be taken up by the Gatekeeper if it be presented by any person other than myself." Measures 2.5" x 4.5".
The Sturdy cardboard pass served as the protective, outer-portion of original Cubs 1910 season ticket booklet (issued to select attendees for 1910 Cubs games at West Side Grounds). This cardboard variant possesses identical graphics to the paper game passes contained within, thus indicating like recognition by stadium gatekeepers (typically the final ticket/pass to be surrendered). Retaining the infield talents of Tinker, Evers & Chance, along with the pitching mastery of Mordecai “Three Finger” Brown, the Cubs played as reigning National League Pennant-Winners during the 1911 season, compiling 92 victories and nearly earning another trip to The World Series under the guidance of manager Frank Chance.
