Offered for auction in this lot is a Babe Ruth professional model H&B Louisville Slugger game used bat from his last days with the Red Sox & earliest days with the Yankees. This pre-model number stick has a signature barrel and the 1917-21 period H&B 40K center brand.
This natural finished ash bat currently weighs 34 ounces, measures 33" in length and matches recorded player specifications with a regular knob and round barrel. It exhibits heavy signs of use with numerous markings throughout, dead wood and a 6" handle crack. Remnants of the cork are still found on the handle, although there is loss. (Q0174)
