No player gained prominence during a time needed more than when Babe Ruth rose to the top of baseball in the early 1920s. Baseball was rocked to its core following the 1919 Black Sox scandal. Nobody trusted baseball and our nation was shocked at how this could have happened. One man helped baseball fans forget fixing games and brought them to wherever he played.
The one and only Babe Ruth was a national story wherever he went. The big question is did Ruth play harder on or off the field?
Created three years after his playing career is this Babe Ruth personal check. The Bambino wrote this check in his personal hand (check the "E" on Donohue which matches perfectly to Ruth's writing) to James Donohue April 25, 1938 for the sum of $65.00.
Ruth signed the front "GH Ruth" in perfect blue fountain pen. The marksmanship by Ruth is stellar. There is a stamp near the autograph and it barely touches the "t" on Ruth.
A near perfect Ruth personal check.
