In this vintage 7" x 9" image Indians executive Bill Veeck and Hall of Fame hurler Bob Feller handle some paper work. To be specific, Feller is signing his contract for more than $80,000, which was the richest salary in baseball at the time. How things have changed!

The St. Petersburg Times traces its origin to the West Hillsborough Times, a weekly newspaper started in Duedin, Florida in 1884. This is an original photo, in many cases a Type 1 printed at the time of the event. File copies or type 2 photos are also found, and can be distinguished by the markings on the reverse.
