Offered for auction in this lot is a Greg Brock professional model Louisville Slugger game used bat from his time with the Milwaukee Brewers in the late 1980's. Model number C271 is stamped on the signature barrel and Brock's uniform number 9 is written on the knob in black sharpie. Greg has also signed the bat in black sharpie above the barrel with the inscription "To Jeremy."
This natural finished ash bat currently weighs 31 ounces, measures 34.5" in length and matches known player factory records with a regular knob and round barrel. It exhibits heavy signs of use with deeply embedded stitch marks, a medium application of pine tar and a handle crack repaired with 4 period nails. (Q0002)
Bat receives 5 points for matching known player factory records, 3 points for use, 1 point for a documented uniform number and loses 1/2 a point for the handle crack resulting in a final grade of MEARS A8.5
