Offered is a 35-ounce, 34-inch Rawlings bat put to use by longtime Brewers catcher and all-time Australian home run leader Dave Nilsson during the 1996 season. The bat features the model number 456B on the knob and Dave's block letter first and last name on the barrel.
The bat matches known player factory records and exhibits signs of heavy game use in the form of heavy ball marks, deeply embedded stitch marks, bat rack marks, deadwood and a 14-inch handle crack. Nilsson's number 14 appears on the knob in gold marker.
Grade A9: 5 points for matching known player factory records, 3 points for heavy game use, 1 point for documented uniform number on the knob, 1 point for player traits and a 1 point deduction for handle crack.
